All About Delta Church

History

Delta Church held its first worship service on January 21, 2007 in an unused church building on Outer Park Drive in Springfield. But Delta began much earlier than that.

Pastor Ryan Mobley had a seed of church planting growing in his heart while attending Bible College. Pastor Ryan served in a variety of positions at churches in Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan before God orchestrated His timing with Pastor Ryan and his family moving to Springfield to plant Delta. Instrumental in this move was meeting Delta co-founder Charles Campbell at a church planting conference. Pastor Charles had begun to gather a small core team of people for the purpose of praying, dreaming, and envisioning a new church in Springfield for the spiritually disconnected. When Pastor Ryan and Pastor Charles met, it began a process that lasted nearly a year of seeking the Holy Spirit’s direction. It became clear to Pastor Ryan, primarily through meditating and praying over Acts 16:6-10, that God was indeed calling him to Springfield to plant Delta. The first “core team” meeting was held in Pastor Ryan’s living room with about 10 people in attendance. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and building relationships with like-minded Christ-followers, Delta Church began in January 2007 seeking to fulfill its mission of “Loving God, Transforming Lives, and Changing the World.”

Vision

Our vision of Delta Church is about what we are becoming. It's a picture of the future that God has laid on our hearts. Our vision is: "Becoming a diverse community who seeks to care for the whole person, love our city, and plant other churches." For more details read about our Vision.

Mission

The mission of Delta Church defines what we’re doing today as we strive to fulfill our vision. Our mission basically spells out what we are seeking to do everyday, a short statement of who we are that provides a filter for everything that we do.
